Lifting robots UK: a lifting robot is an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) that slides under a shelf, rack, cart or pallet, lifts it and carries it across the warehouse, with no operator and no fixed conveyor. FlyWei supplies, integrates and supports the AMB, SBA and SJV series for UK warehouses and factories, from 150 kg to 1,000 kg, with ±5 mm docking on laser SLAM and no rails, wires or floor magnets to install.

In a UK operation a lifting robot does the short, repetitive moves that tie up people and pallet trucks: bringing a mobile shelf to a pick station, shuttling carts between assembly cells, or feeding totes from receiving to storage. The robots share one M4 fleet manager with FlyWei's autonomous forklifts, so a site can run stackers, counterbalanced trucks and lifting robots as one fleet over VDA 5050. FlyWei is a vendor-neutral integrator: we size the fleet from your volumes, fit the top module to your racking, integrate the WMS and support the robots with UK-based engineers.
Every deployment starts with a free UK site survey, with no obligation, and typically goes live 8 to 14 weeks later. Robot servicing and support in the UK
Every lifting robot FlyWei deploys is supported by UK-based engineers for the life of the fleet. Scheduled maintenance, reactive repair, software updates and spare parts are handled by FlyWei, with remote diagnosis through the M4 fleet manager before anyone travels. What is a lifting robot?
A lifting robot is a driverless autonomous mobile robot (AMR) that slides under a shelf, rack, cart or pallet, lifts it and carries it across the warehouse, with no operator and no fixed conveyor. FlyWei's lifting robots are the AMB, SBA and SJV series: latent-jacking and rotary-lift AMRs for goods-to-person picking, shelf moving, tugging and pallet transport. They navigate by laser SLAM, dock to ±5 mm and run up to 12 hours on a charge.
What is the difference between a lifting robot and a base AMR?
A base AMR (AMB-150, AMB-300, AMB-300XS or SBA-400EU) is the mobile platform: it carries a fixed top deck or a bolt-on module. A lifting robot adds an active lift: latent jacking on the AMB-300JZ and AMB-JS, or rotary lift on the SJV-SW600, so it can pick a load up and set it down rather than only carry it. Both share the same controller and the M4 fleet software, so they run together in one fleet.
How much can a lifting robot lift?
The FlyWei range runs from 150 kg on the AMB-150 base robot to 1,000 kg on the AMB-1000JS jacking robot. In between sit the 300 kg AMB-300, AMB-300XS and AMB-300JZ, the 400 kg SBA-400EU and the 600 kg SJV-SW600. The jacking models lift the load through a stroke of about 60 mm, enough to clear the feet of a shelf or cart.
Can one lifting robot handle different shelves and loads?
Yes. FlyWei lifting robots use interchangeable top modules (jacking, conveyor, roller and shelf adaptors), so a single robot can move shelves, pallets, cages and totes. A free UK site survey matches the right module and payload to your racking and SKUs.
Do lifting robots need floor markers, rails or reflectors?
No. Every model navigates by laser SLAM natural-feature mapping, so there are no rails, wires, floor magnets or reflectors to install. QR-code and reflector positioning are available as options where a site wants them, but the standard deployment maps the building as it is.
How long does a lifting robot deployment take in the UK?
FlyWei deployments typically take 8 to 14 weeks from the free site survey to go-live. Because there is no fixed infrastructure to lay, the time goes on mapping, fleet sizing, top-module fit, WMS integration through the M4 fleet manager, and operator training.

Can I lease or hire lifting robots?
Yes. Lifting robots can be leased over 3, 5 or 7 years, with the robots, the M4 fleet manager, maintenance and UK support in one monthly rate, subject to credit approval. Shorter, per-site hire terms are also available. FlyWei does not publish a rate card; the free site survey produces a quote for your fleet.
